When we run, we tend to just ‘run’. The more mindful you can be about ‘HOW’ you run (and for that matter – swim & ride as well) the better your technique and therefore form is going to be.
Run Tip #1
Think about running ‘behind’ your body. This will do several things:
- It will help with hip extension range prior to toe off, which is VITAL to maintain good technique will running, especially at speed.
- It will automatically put your foot at a better angle on toe off, so that the force your foot is putting on the ground is horizontal – ie. pushing you forward, rather than more vertical, which makes you bob up and down and waste energy!
