BIG TOE RUNNING! Why and How:

Run Quicker and Straighter with this quick tip!

Next time you are out for a run, think about pushing off through your big toe

Why: It will help you to engage your peroneal muscles. This will help to keep your foot and ankle in better alignment, which will mean your knees to move in straighter lines!

This will mean that you will not be wasting energy going out to the sides and all of your energy will be used moving forward!

It will also help you to run with less “bouncing up and down”, which is a good sign that someone is wasting energy going up and down, rather than forward.

How: In the push of phase of your run, think about gently pushing off through your big toe, as your foot comes off the ground. Think about having light feet as well during this phase.
